Where a Yoosteel necklace falls

Necklace lengths are measured around the neck, clasp closed. The Yoosteel length notes on every piece add its extender, 2 to 2.5 inches, so each necklace covers a small range rather than one point.

Before you order

Six measurements that save a return

  1. Your neck

    Hang a string where you want the pendant, pinch it and measure the loop flat. That number is your necklace length.

  2. Your usual neckline

    Measure over the top you wear most. A crew neck hides anything that rests on the collarbone.

  3. The necklace you already own

    Read its length, then choose the next one two inches longer or shorter, so the chains lie apart.

  4. Your wrist

    Wrap a tape snugly and add half an inch for a tennis bracelet. Stretch stacks are 7 inches.

  5. Your piercings

    Count the holes in each ear. A stud set has six sizes, from 2 mm for a high piercing to 8 mm for the lobe.

  6. His chest

    For a pendant over a T-shirt, run the string from the back of the neck to mid-chest, then pick the chain closest to that number.

Is your Yoosteel jewelry real gold?

It is gold plated, not solid gold. Most of our gold tone pieces carry 14K gold plating over brass, copper or stainless steel, and the Details table on each piece names the base metal. The gold plated jewelry guide explains what the terms mean.

Which Yoosteel necklace length should you choose?

For a pendant on the collarbone, 16 inches. For a choker at the base of the neck, 14. For a second layer below a pendant, 18. Every necklace we make has an extender of 2 to 2.5 inches, and the necklace length guide shows where each length falls.

Can you wear Yoosteel jewelry if metals bother your skin?

Some people can and some cannot, and no plated piece suits every skin. Earrings are the most common trigger because they sit in the skin for hours. If a piece leaves a rash, take it off, and see a dermatologist if the rash blisters or keeps returning.

How do you keep your Yoosteel pieces from fading?
