Where a Y-shaped drop ends
A lariat draws a line down the chest, so the neckline under it matters more than with any other chain. On the layered styles the short chain is 15 inches and the Y-shaped chain 18, with a 3-inch vertical drop, which ends a little above the neckline of a scoop or V neck. On a crew neck the drop disappears under the fabric.
The circle and long bar style and the heart style skip the short chain and sit lower, on a 21-inch chain. Both are brass with 14K gold plating and lobster clasps, and the drop is fixed, so the length you order is the length it hangs.
